ABSTRACT: Food is a major source for the physical, intellectual and emotional growth of people, especially the adolescent because he is in a life cycle where protein, energy and regulatory contributions help him to strengthen his state of health and prevent diseases or alterations related to an inadequate intake of food.In a study carried out by José Marugan, he explains that "adolescent feeding should promote adequate growth and development and promote healthy lifestyle habits to prevent nutritional disorders. This stage may be the last opportunity to nutritionally prepare the young person for a healthier adult life. "This study also highlights that teenagers during this time may acquire new eating habits due to several factors: Social, friends and peers, the habit of eating outside the home, rejection of traditional family rules, the pursuit of autonomy and a greater purchasing power. "These different habits, sometimes allow the young to consume little or enough amounts of food and that allows their level of development whether physical, emotional psychic and cognitive to be affected or not during this stage. As mentioned above, in the work carried out during the two academic periods of 2016 within educational institutions, it was identified that young people commonly consulted for abdominal pains, dizziness and headaches, and this represented in them that their educational performance was interrupted and failed to meet academic objectives. This allowed in the work to investigate what are the external factors that causes young people to present these symptoms and negatively affect their study.Within the investigation through the collection of data it was found that the majority of these young people, arrived at the school without breakfast or the portions of foods that they consumed did not satisfy them completely, this referenced by them. Therefore it was related that the consumption of food before entering the school and academic activities affected the young person in the achievement of the school goals. Based on this, students from sixth to eleven were evaluated at both institutions where the information measure was weight and height screening and its relation to the IMC, based on the guidelines of Resolution 2465 od 2016, for the purpose to determine and obtain information necessary to complement what students refer to about their eating habits. The information obtained and collected was entered into a database, where it was constantly updated according to the information collected. At the Atanasio Girardot educational institution, 379 (71.3%) students were found to have nutritional alterations such as, thinness, risk of delay in height, overweight and obesity, and the results obtained in the institutions and according to the criteria of the resolution. The other items of the resolution; While in the Educational Institution Fundadores Ramón Bueno and José Triana, 329 (80.6%) students were found to have the same nutritional alterations. With this information, the Amiga Unit of the University of Cundinamarca, made the presentation of the results to the directives of the institutions and also the unit presented the actions to follow and the strategies for the continuity of the project. In the actions carried out, the students who found some of the alterations were sent to their respective EPS and IPS, waiting for the response of each one of them. Some EPS gave approval to what was raised and are monitoring and controlling these young people. Finally it is hoped that through the results obtained the municipal territorial entity, its municipal secretariats and the EPS/IPS in agreement with the educational institutions and participation of the Amiga Unit, actions will be generated that will diminish the appearance of these nutritional alterations and improve the conditions of the school in its educational process.en_EN
