Embryo transfer (ET) is an assisted reproduction technique, which consists of
obtaining several embryos generated by a donor female, used to be inoculated into
recipient (pregnant) females. Therefore, the objective of ET is to increase the
number of offspring of females that have an excellent genetic value. In the present
study, the results of different studies can be evidenced where the importance of age
in females, reproductive stage, the most effective method of obtaining and collecting
embryos and estrus synchronization are demonstrated, these factors being relevant
for the success of the procedure in question.
In a study carried out with goats of greater weight and dark colors, there were no
statistically significant differences in Fertility between the groups mating plus one
embryo (71.4%), two embryos (75%) and only mating (81.2%) (P>0.05 ). The
Prolificacy obtained in the experiment is also shown. In the mating group plus an
embryo, 22 kids (2.2 ± 0.6) were obtained, showing a statistical difference (P0.05).
It is concluded that the transfer of an embryo in goats that had received natural
mating increases the prolificacy index, without affecting the fertility rate. | spa |
