The objective of this work is to carry out a theoretical literature review about the important nutritional aspects in the fertility of the Colombian Creole mare. Nutrition plays a fundamental role in the generation and hormonal dynamics of mares in various stages of their reproductive life, including the estrous cycle, growth and development, puberty, gestation and the postpartum period. One of the important details to consider is an adequate energy balance, since these animals must receive a sufficient amount of energy in their diet to maintain an optimal body condition, low body fat content can negatively affect their reproduction, however, it is important to supplement the diet in females, based on the nutritional and hormonal deficiencies that occur individually, In addition to quality proteins that are essential for the development and function of reproductive organs and evolution of hormonal metabolism in young or adult animals, and taking into account important external factors such as oxidative stress, which can be caused by situations of intense exercise and exposure to toxins, circumstances that affect the mare's normal estrous cycles. Constant monitoring and specific nutritional management, tailored to the individual needs of each mare, are critical to maintaining optimal reproductive health throughout her life cycle. Consultation with veterinary professionals and equine nutritionists is essential to design appropriate nutritional plans.
