Diferencia Entre Los Métodos De Identificación De Organismos Genéticamente Modificados (OGM) Utilizados En El Laboratorio Del ICA.

Abstract

La generación de cultivos transgénicos ha ido aumentando significativamente en los últimos años. Debido a esto, cada país debe disponer de un ente, el cual se encargará de autorizar, controlar y dar seguimiento a las actividades basadas en el uso de estos Organismos Genéticamente Modificados (OGM); en Colombia el ente encargado para el sector agrícola es el Ministerio de Agricultura a través del Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario – ICA, donde se cuenta con un laboratorio diseñado para la detección de OGM, con protocolos estandarizados en tres matrices principales: maíz, algodón y soya. Dicha detección se realiza mediante la técnica de PCR en tiempo real.

The generation of transgenic crops has been increasing significantly in recent years. Because of this, each country must have a body in charge of authorizing, controlling and monitoring activities based on the use of these Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs); in Colombia, the body in charge for the agricultural sector is the Ministry of Agriculture through the Colombian Agricultural Institute - ICA, where there is a laboratory designed for the detection of GMOs, with standardized protocols in three main matrices: corn, cotton and soybeans. This detection is carried out using the real-time PCR technique.
