Abstract
For several years, the agricultural frontier in the Colombian Amazon has been expanding, which includes the departments of Caquetá, Guaviare, Amazonas, Guainía, Putumayo and Vaupés, which is why there is an accelerated increase in deforestation in the region. In Milan, Caquetá, this expansion is given by different factors, among which the extensive cattle ranching and the implementation of conventional agriculture stand out, which have brought with them the felling of trees, burning, pasturing and the use of chemical products, affecting in a way negative the ecosystem and biodiversity. Therefore, the arazá (Eugenia stipitata) is proposed as a reforestation opportunity with an endemic forest species that, in addition to helping to restore the ecosystem, will be a new form of production that will mean a turn in the generation of income for the producers of Milan. Because this fruit is exotic, it is desired by several foreign countries, which represents an economic incentive to achieve a high quality production that reaches the necessary standards for export. The following license files are associated with this item:
