Arazá (Eugenia stipitata) como alternativa de reforestación productiva en el municipio de Milán, departamento del Caquetá

Desde hace varios años atrás se viene ampliando la frontera agrícola en la Amazonía Colombiana, que comprende los departamentos del Caquetá, Amazonas, Guaviare, Vaupés, Putumayo y Guainía, por lo que se observa incremento acelerado en la deforestación de la región. En Milán, Caquetá, esta ampliación está dada por diferentes factores entre los cuales se destaca la ganadería extensiva y la implementación de la agricultura convencional que han traído consigo la tala de árboles, la quema, la praderización y el uso de productos químicos afectando de forma negativa el ecosistema y la biodiversidad. Por lo anterior se propone el arazá (Eugenia stipitata) como una oportunidad de reforestación con una especie forestal endémica que además de ayudar a restaurar el ecosistema, será una nueva forma de producción que significará un giro en la generación de ingresos para los productores de Milán debido a que este fruto por ser exótico, es apetecido por varios países del exterior, lo que representa un incentivo económico para lograr una producción de alta calidad que alcance los estándares necesarios para exportación. For several years, the agricultural frontier in the Colombian Amazon has been expanding, which includes the departments of Caquetá, Guaviare, Amazonas, Guainía, Putumayo and Vaupés, which is why there is an accelerated increase in deforestation in the region. In Milan, Caquetá, this expansion is given by different factors, among which the extensive cattle ranching and the implementation of conventional agriculture stand out, which have brought with them the felling of trees, burning, pasturing and the use of chemical products, affecting in a way negative the ecosystem and biodiversity. Therefore, the arazá (Eugenia stipitata) is proposed as a reforestation opportunity with an endemic forest species that, in addition to helping to restore the ecosystem, will be a new form of production that will mean a turn in the generation of income for the producers of Milan. Because this fruit is exotic, it is desired by several foreign countries, which represents an economic incentive to achieve a high quality production that reaches the necessary standards for export.
