La investigación analiza la producción científica global sobre la humanización de la atención en unidades de cuidado crítico para pacientes adultos con COVID-19 entre 2020 y 2024. Este tema es relevante por los desafíos éticos, emocionales y clínicos impuestos por la pandemia. La atención humanizada, basada en empatía, comunicación efectiva y respeto, enfrenta importantes tensiones en entornos de alta demanda como las UCI. Objetivo: Analizar la producción científica relacionada con la humanización en la atención de cuidados críticos en pacientes adultos con COVID-19, identificando las principales tendencias temáticas, autores, países e instituciones influyentes. Estudio cuantitativo-descriptivo basado en análisis bibliométrico, utilizando las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science. Se incluyeron 365 publicaciones, seleccionadas mediante criterios específicos como idioma, relevancia temática y calidad científica. Para el análisis y la representación gráfica, se emplearon herramientas como Bibliometrix y VOSviewer. Se identificaron 3015 autores, con una colaboración internacional del 12.6% y un promedio de 8.78 coautores por documento. Las instituciones más relevantes incluyen la Universidad Johns Hopkins y la Universidad de California en San Francisco. Conclusiones: La investigación destaca que, durante la pandemia, la humanización del cuidado fue un tema crucial en la literatura científica. Sin embargo, persisten desafíos en la implementación de prácticas humanizadas en contextos críticos. Este análisis bibliométrico aporta una visión estructurada sobre las áreas prioritarias y vacíos en la investigación, ofreciendo una base para futuras iniciativas en la mejora de la atención integral al paciente. ABSTRACT: The research analyzes the global scientific production on the humanization of care in critical care units for adult patients with COVID-19 between 2020 and 2024. This topic is relevant due to the ethical, emotional and clinical challenges imposed by the pandemic. Humanized care, based on empathy, effective communication, and respect, faces significant tensions in high-demand environments such as ICUs. Objective: To analyze the scientific production related to humanization in critical care care in adult patients with COVID-19, identifying the main thematic trends, authors, countries and influential institutions. Quantitative-descriptive study based on bibliometric analysis, using the Scopus and Web of Science databases. A total of 365 publications were included, selected using specific criteria such as language, thematic relevance and scientific quality. For the analysis and graphical representation, tools such as Bibliometrix and VOSviewer were used. 3015 authors were identified, with an international collaboration of 12.6% and an average of 8.78 co-authors per paper. The most relevant institutions include Johns Hopkins University and the University of California, San Francisco. Conclusions: The research highlights that, during the pandemic, the humanization of care was a crucial topic in the scientific literature. However, challenges persist in the implementation of humanized practices in critical contexts. This bibliometric analysis provides a structured view of priority areas and gaps in research, offering a basis for future initiatives to improve comprehensive patient care.
