Resumen Luego de tiempos de confinamiento social, a causa de la pandemia generada por el virus COVID 19, la humanidad ahora tiene nuevas necesidades de tipo psicomotor, por ello en el presente trabajo dedica un espacio a la primera infancia con el fin de lograr la caracterización de la motricidad gruesa en niños y niñas de los hogares comunitarios vinculados al Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (ICBF) en Fusagasugá, por medio del test TGMD-3 el cual permite identificar el nivel de maduración motriz en este rango de edades. La investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo con un método cuasi experimental; desde el cual se socializó el proyecto a las familias y organizaciones logrando así su consentimiento informado; luego de entrar con una interacción previa con los infantes, se aplicó el test TGMD-3, para recopilar la información que permite valorar el nivel de madurez motora; este estudio se realizó en seis hogares comunitarios del ICBF de la comuna nororiental de Fusagasugá. Como resultado se pudo encontrar que existen falencias en el desarrollo motor grueso de los niños debido al poco espacio y actividades que promuevan este mismo, también que la gran diversidad de población tanto en edades como en comportamientos sociales influyen en el proceso de desarrollo motor y comunicativo. Abstract After times of social confinement, due to the pandemic generated by the COVID 19 virus, humanity now has new needs of a psychomotor type, for this reason, in the present work, a space is dedicated to early childhood in order to achieve the characterization of Gross motor skills in boys and girls from community homes linked to the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) in Fusagasugá, through the TGMD-3 test, which allows identifying the level of motor maturation in this age range. The research has a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method; from which the project was socialized to families and organizations, thus achieving their informed consent; After entering with a previous interaction with the infants, the TGMD-3 test was applied to collect the information that allows assessing the level of motor maturity; This study was carried out in six ICBF community homes in the northeastern commune of Fusagasugá. As a result, it was possible to find that there are shortcomings in the gross motor development of children due to the little space and activities that promote it, also that the great diversity of the population, both in ages and in social behaviors, influence the process of motor and communication development.
