El proyecto de investigación, “Construcción de escenarios ambientales a través, de una herramienta didáctica para mejorar la lectura del entorno frente al manejo de residuos sólidos, desde la educación ambiental”, surge como iniciativa interdisciplinar entre el programa de Ingeniería Ambiental y la licenciatura en Educación Básica con Énfasis en Humanidades: Lengua Castellana e Inglés, de la seccional Girardot. Es a partir de las vivencias y observaciones del contexto que los investigadores identifican la necesidad de promover en la comunidad la sensibilización ambiental, mediante el aprendizaje significativo, con base en los saberes de los participantes, la intervención individual y colectiva; en meta de investigación se convirtió el construir escenarios ambientales a través de una herramienta didáctica, para mejorar la lectura del entorno en niños de 7 a 12 años del barrio Icacal del municipio de Melgar en el departamento del Tolima, frente al manejo de los Residuos Sólidos Domésticos (RSD). Para la ejecución de este proyecto fue la Investigación Acción (IA), con enfoque cualitativo la que orientó el despliegue práctico, en donde se aplicaron técnicas de recolección de datos como: observación participativa, encuesta de caracterización familiar, registros fotográficos, diarios de campo, entre otros, permitiendo así un trabajo interdisciplinar teniendo como escenario la realidad social y la voz de sus protagonistas en la construcción de conocimientos básicos para la resolución de problemáticas de carácter ambiental y mejorar así los procesos de lectura que el sujeto hace de su entorno. Con el desarrollo de esta investigación se ha logrado ver que la sociedad necesita una educación fundamentada en el respeto por cuidar, preservar, fomentar, hacer buen uso de los recursos ambientales y de los residuos sólidos en beneficio de la comunidad y la naturaleza. ABSTRACT: The research project, "Construction of environmental scenarios through a didactic tool to improve the reading of the environment in the face of solid waste management, from environmental education", arises as an interdisciplinary initiative between the Environmental Engineering program and the degree in Basic Education with Emphasis on Humanities: Spanish and English Language, from the Girardot section, and it is from the experiences and observations of the context that researchers identify the need to promote environmental awareness in the community, through meaningful learning, based on in the knowledge of the participants, individual and collective intervention; The research goal became the construction of environmental scenarios through a didactic tool, to improve the reading of the environment in children between 7 and 12 years of the Icacal neighborhood of the municipality of Melgar in the department of Tolima, regarding the management of Solid Waste Domestic (SWD). For the execution of this project, it was the Participatory Action Research (PAR), with a qualitative approach, that guided the practical deployment, where data collection techniques were applied such as: participatory observation, family characterization survey, photographic records, field diaries, among others, thus allowing interdisciplinary work taking as a stage the social reality and the voice of its protagonists in the construction of basic knowledge in the resolution of environmental problems and thus improve the reading processes that the subject makes of their environment. With the development of this research, it has been possible to see that society needs an education based on respect for caring for, preserving, promoting, making good use of environmental resources and solid waste for the benefit of the community and nature.
