Según investigaciones realizadas por la asociación hotelera y turística de Colombia, (Cotelco), por la cual demuestra que de cada 100 habitaciones formales, hay 30 habitaciones informales. Confirmando el gran impacto negativo que el fenómeno ocasiona a la ciudad de girardot, afectando también a los establecimientos comerciales que cuentan con su debida documentación legal y normas requeridas para su funcionamiento legal, es por esto que se realiza investigaciones necesarias para poder reconfirmar que en la ciudad de girardot se presenta un comportamiento llamado parahoteleria; La ciudad de girardot se ha visto afectada económicamente porque al hacer uso de la informalidad le están dejando de ingresar dividas a la economía de la ciudad. Parahoteleria is a phenomenon that has taken on considerable growth since 2006. According to research carried out by the hotel and tourism association of Colombia, (Cotelco), for which it shows that out of every 100 formal rooms, there are 30 informal rooms. Confirming the great negative impact that the phenomenon causes the city of Girardot, also affecting commercial establishments that have their proper legal documentation and required standards for parahoteleria is a phenomeno its legal functioning, which is why research is carried out necessary to be able to confirm that in the city of girardot there is a behavior called parahoteleria. The city of Girardot has been affected economically because by making use of informality they are no longer entering the city's economy.
