Relación entre funcionamiento familiar y calidad de vida en la persona mayor con diabetes tipo 2, municipio de Girardot Cundinamarca – 2024 prueba piloto.

La diabetes tipo 2 es una preocupación creciente entre los adultos mayores, con un aumento en la prevalencia y la morbilidad. Los estudios han mostrado un impacto negativo en la calidad de vida de esta población, afectando la salud física, psicológica y las relaciones sociales. Aunque algunos pacientes con diabetes tipo 2 reportan una buena calidad de vida, la enfermedad puede deteriorar significativamente el bienestar general, lo que resalta la importancia de un adecuado manejo por parte del equipo de salud; de igual manera, la interacción dentro del ámbito familiar desempeña un papel fundamental., afectando tanto la progresión de la enfermedad como la calidad de vida de las personas mayores. Objetivo: analizar la relación entre funcionamiento familiar y calidad de vida en la persona mayor con diabetes tipo 2, municipio de Girardot Cundinamarca – 2024. Método: diseño no experimental, transeccional correlacional; la población se constituye por personas mayores de 60 años con diabetes tipo 2 en el municipio de Girardot. El muestreo a conveniencia de 25 adultos mayores del municipio, que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión; para la obtención de los datos se empleó la técnica de encuesta; la información de funcionamiento familiar se recopiló mediante el Apgar Familiar y para calidad de vida el cuestionario WHOQOL-BREF de libre uso en Colombia. Los participantes aceptaron participar en el estudio previa firma de la autorización de datos personales y el consentimiento informado. Resultados: la media de edad fue de 68,9 (SD 6,3); en la revisión de la posible relación entre los resultados con el instrumento Apgar-familiar y el WHOQOL-BREF, se encontró que el componente adaptación del funcionamiento familiar mostró correlación positiva con la dimensión medio ambiente de la calidad de vida, resultado similar se encontró entre el componente ganancia y la dimensión medio ambiente. Conclusiones: Los hallazgos de esta investigación revelan una correlación significativa entre los resultados obtenidos mediante el instrumento Apgar-familiar y el WHOQOL-BREF, resaltando la importancia de la dinámica familiar en la percepción general del ambiente en el que se desenvuelven los individuos. Studies have shown a negative impact on the quality of life of this population, affecting physical and psychological health and social relationships. Although some patients with type 2 diabetes report a good quality of life, the disease can significantly deteriorate general well-being, which highlights the importance of adequate management by the health team; Likewise, interaction within the family environment plays a fundamental role, affecting both the progression of the disease and the quality of life of older people. Objective: to analyze the relationship between family functioning and quality of life in older people with type 2 diabetes, municipality of Girardot Cundinamarca – 2024. Method: non-experimental, correlational transectional design; The population is made up of people over 60 years of age with type 2 diabetes in the municipality of Girardot. Convenience sampling of 25 older adults from the municipality, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria; To obtain the data, the survey technique was used; Information on family functioning was collected through the Family Apgar and for quality of life the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire for free use in Colombia. The participants agreed to participate in the study after signing the authorization of personal data and the informed consent. Results: the mean age was 68.9 (SD 6.3); In the review of the possible relationship between the results with the Apgar-family instrument and the WHOQOL-BREF, it was found that the adaptation component of family functioning showed positive correlation with the environmental dimension of quality of life, a similar result was found between the profit component and the environment dimension. Conclusions: The findings of this research reveal a significant correlation between the results obtained through the Apgar-family instrument and the WHOQOL-BREF, highlighting the importance of family dynamics in the general perception of the environment in which individuals operate.
