Diagnóstico de buenas prácticas ganaderas – BPG – en la producción primaria de ovinos y caprinos en veredas del municipio de Sibaté Cundinamarca

El presente proyecto se llevó a cabo en el municipio de Sibaté, Cundinamarca, en colaboración con el programa “Repoblamiento Ovino” de la Secretaría de Agricultura de la Alcaldía de Sibaté. Se realizó un diagnóstico de la implementación de Buenas Prácticas Ganaderas en ovinos y caprinos, conforme a la Resolución 20277 de 2018 del ICA. Durante el desarrollo de este trabajo, se realizó diagnóstico de nueve (9) sistemas de producción en colaboración con los productores. Se llevaron a cabo capacitaciones sobre Buenas Prácticas Ganaderas (BPG) en ovinos para fortalecer los conocimientos de los pequeños productores, con el propósito de mitigar los impactos sociales, económicos, ambientales y de salud. Además, se implementaron estrategias para facilitar a los productores la aplicación de la lista de verificación de las BPG en ovinos, con el objetivo de optimizar el proceso. A lo largo del tiempo, la producción ovino-caprina ha tenido un impacto significativo debido a los diversos beneficios que estas especies ofrecen, como la lana, carne, leche y subproductos de alto valor nutricional. Es fundamental asegurar la calidad e inocuidad de los alimentos, priorizando el bienestar animal y aplicando las Buenas Prácticas Ganaderas (BPG) específicas para estas especies, conforme a la Resolución 20277 del ICA. Finalmente, es crucial destacar que, gracias al diagnóstico llevado a cabo, las capacitaciones enfocadas en Buenas Prácticas Ganaderas (BPG) para ovinos y los progresos alcanzados en la implementación de Resolución 20277 de 2018 del ICA, se podrá reducir de manera significativa algunos de los impactos negativos asociados. Este enfoque integral no solo beneficiará la calidad de los productos, sino también el bienestar animal y la sostenibilidad a lo largo de la producción ovino-caprina. This project was carried out in the municipality of Sibaté, Cundinamarca, in collaboration with the "Sheep Repopulation" program of the Department of Agriculture of the Mayor's Office of Sibaté. A diagnosis of the implementation of Good Livestock Practices in sheep and goats was carried out, in accordance with ICA Resolution 20277 of 2018. During the development of this work, nine (9) production systems were diagnosed in collaboration with producers. Training on Good Livestock Practices (GMP) was carried out in sheep to strengthen the knowledge of small producers, with the purpose of mitigating social, economic, environmental and health impacts. In addition, strategies were implemented to make it easier for producers to implement the GMP checklist in sheep, with the aim of optimising the process. Over time, sheep-goat production has had a significant impact due to the various benefits that these species offer, such as wool, meat, milk and byproducts of high nutritional value. It is essential to ensure the quality and safety of food, prioritizing animal welfare and applying Good Livestock Practices (GMP) specific to these species, in accordance with ICA Resolution 20277. Finally, it is crucial to highlight that, thanks to the diagnosis carried out, the training focused on Good Livestock Practices (GMP) for sheep and the progress achieved in the implementation of Resolution 20277 of 2018 of the ICA, it will be possible to significantly reduce some of the associated negative impacts. This comprehensive approach will not only benefit product quality, but also animal welfare and sustainability throughout sheep-goat production.
