Los probióticos reducen el impacto del destete sobre el desempeño productivo de terneros Nelore durante el periodo post-destete

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar el efecto del uso de probióticos sobre la ganancia de peso en terneros Nelore durante 60 días posteriores al destete. Fue implementado un diseño completamente al azar con 2 tratamientos y 17 repeticiones animales por tratamiento (N=34), siendo, Prob.0d: animales recibiendo probiótico el día del destete, y Prob.30d: animales recibiendo probiótico 30 días posteriores al destete. El estudio tuvo una duración de 60 días durante los cuales los animales fueron pesado en ayuno hídrico y alimentar de 12 horas a inicio y final de la investigación para determinar la ganancia de peso, realizando pesajes intermediarios a cada 10 días para establecer desempeños parciales de crecimiento. Animales del tratamiento Prob.0d presentaron una recuperación mayor y en menor periodo de tiempo cuando comparados con animales del tratamiento Prob.30d, presentando ganancias de peso superiores a partir de los días 10-20 (P< 0,018) del periodo de investigación siendo la ganancia de peso total de 2,09 kg y 12,65 kg (P< 0,001) respectivamente para Prob.30d y Prob.0d. Animales del tratamiento Prob.0d generaron incremento en la rentabilidad del sistema, siendo el lucro/animal $30,1USD (P< 0,001) al de los animales que recibieron probiótico 30 días posteriores al destete. La oferta de probióticos al momento del destete acorta el grado de recuperación, mejora el desempeño productivo y la rentabilidad de terneros Nelore durante el post destete. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of probiotic use on weight gain in Nelore calves for 60 days after weaning. A completely randomized design was implemented with 2 treatments and 17 animal repetitions per treatment (N = 34), being, Prob.0d: animals receiving probiotic on the day of weaning, and Prob.30d: animals receiving probiotic 30 days after weaning. The study lasted 60 days during which the animals were weighed in water fasting and fed for 12 hours at the beginning and end of the research to determine weight gain, performing intermediate weighings every 10 days to establish partial growth performances. Animals in the Prob.0d treatment showed a greater recovery and in a shorter period of time when compared to animals in the Prob.30d treatment, presenting higher weight gains from days 10-20 (P < 0.018) of the investigation period, with a total weight gain of 2.09 kg and 12.65 kg (P < 0.001) respectively for Prob.30d and Prob.0d. Animals in the Prob.0d treatment generated an increase in the profitability of the system, with profit/animal being $30.1USD (P < 0.001) compared to animals that received probiotics 30 days after weaning. The supply of probiotics at the time of weaning shortens the degree of recovery, improves productive performance and profitability of Nelore calves during the post-weaning period.
