RESUMEN. La investigación se emprendió con el objetivo de reconocer e identificar materiales necesarios y sus costos en la construcción de obras hidráulicas y sanitarias en un programa de viviendas de interés social y/o prioritario (VIS Y VIP) en la ciudad de Fusagasugá, enfocado en el análisis científico del uso de los servicios eco sistémicos de agua potable y las adaptaciones estructurales y tecnológicas aportadas por la humanidad. Para esto se analiza información histórica tomada desde la antigua Grecia hasta el presente, aportada de diferentes fuentes tanto internacionales como nacionales; como también aquellas leyes, decretos y ordenanzas emitidas por el gobierno nacional y sus instituciones en cuanto a desarrollo urbanístico. Para ser analizada dando un enfoque hacia la contabilidad de costos y de esta forma obtener información veraz para la toma de decisiones en una empresa constructora. ABSTRACT. The research is started with the objective of recognizing and identifying necessary materials and their costs in the build of hydraulic and sanitary works in a housing program of social interest and/or priority (VIS AND VIP) at Fusagasugá city, focused on the scientific analysis of the use of ecosystem services of drinking water and the structural and technological adaptations provided by humanity. For this, historical information taken from ancient Greece to the present is analyzed, contributed from different sources, both international and national; as well as those laws, decrees and ordinances issued by the national government and its institutions regarding urban development. To be analyzed giving a focus on cost accounting and in this way obtain accurate information for decision making in a build company
