Determinantes del desempeño psicomotor en escolares de Cundinamarca, Colombia

Determinar el perfil psicomotor de niños y niñas de 6 a 10 años de la Institución Educativa Compartir. Fundamentación Teórica: Conocer el perfil psicomotor es importante para poder identificar posibles trastornos o deficiencias motoras del individuo, una de las formas para evaluarlo es la Batería de Desarrollo Psicomotor (BPM) de Víctor Da Fonseca (1998), la cual evalúa la tonicidad, equilibrio, lateralidad, noción del cuerpo, estructuración espacio-temporal, praxia global y praxia fina. Metodología: En la presente investigación se evaluaron 20 niños y 24 niñas de segundo grado de primaria que comprenden edades entre los 6 y 10 años, a los cuales se les aplicó la BPM, junto con las variables antropométricas: talla, peso e índice de masa corporal. Conclusiones: La toma de resultados evidencia que 19 niños y 21 niñas cuentan con un perfil psicomotor normal, para un total de 40 (90,9%). En total hubo un niño con perfil eupráxico, correspondiente al 5% en su género, y 3 niñas eupráxico correspondiente al 14% en su género. La aplicación de la BPM en los estudiantes de la Institución Educativa Compartir, proporcionó un resultado general de 19,96. Según la escala establecida por el instrumento, este puntaje permite clasificar a la población en un nivel normal llegando a presentar algunos factores de valor que revelan falencia psicomotora. En el análisis estadístico de los resultados, no hay una diferencia significativa entre ambos géneros, 40 estudiantes tuvieron un nivel normal y 4 tuvieron un nivel eupráxico. To determine the psychomotor profile of boys and girls aged 6 to 10 years at the Compartir Educational Institution. Background: Knowing the psychomotor profile is important to identify possible motor disorders or deficiencies in the individual, one of the ways to evaluate it is the Psychomotor Development Battery (PMB) by Victor Da Fonseca (1998), which evaluates tonicity, balance, laterality, notion of the body, space-time structuring, global praxia and fine praxia. Methodology: In the present investigation, 20 male and 24 female children from second grade of primary school were evaluated, between the ages of 6 and 10 years, to whom the PMB was applied, along with the anthropometric variables: height, weight and body mass index. Conclusions: The results show that 19 boys and 21 girls have a normal psychomotor profile, for a total of 40 (90.9%). In total, one boy had a eupraxic profile, representing 5% of his gender, and three girls had a eupraxic profile, representing 14% of their gender. The application of the PMB to students at the Compartir Educational Institution yielded an overall score of 19.96. According to the scale established by the instrument, this score allows the population to be classified as having a normal level, presenting some value factors that reveal psychomotor impairment. Statistical analysis of the results revealed no significant differences between the two genders; 40 students had a normal level and four had a eupraxic level.
