A medida que hoy se reconoce la contaminación ambiental como un problema económico, social y político a nivel mundial, nace la razón que avala la necesidad de la gestión y responsabilidad de las empresas en la protección del medio ambiente que conlleve a la mejora continua y razonable de la repercusión del desarrollo de sus actividades, se pretende en esta investigación crear la necesidad de la aproximación a un modelo de contabilidad ambiental que comprende el desarrollo de un conjunto de conceptos y de recomendaciones que aborden la inserción de lo ambiental en lo contable, bajo un sistema de información y control basado en instrumentos teóricos y técnicos para resolver las necesidades que afectan el medio ambiente logrando un desarrollo sostenible que responda a las necesidades propias de la empresa. Como objetivos específicos se planteó el reconocimiento de los factores y elementos que intervienen en un modelo de contabilidad ambiental, métodos y técnicas de valoración, medición y comunicación empleando las herramientas necesarias que abordan el entorno actual como el futuro de la empresa, además de identificar el manejo de la actividad productiva desde la etapa de cultivo hasta el despacho de la producción y finalmente la estructura y desarrollo de la aproximación de un modelo de contabilidad ambiental que aporte a la realidad financiera de la organización identificando el costo- beneficio que implica la adopción de cuentas ambientales a las financieras, considerando que esta información puede generar además de un valor estratégico al sistema informativo de la empresa, la preservación y uso de los recursos naturales. ABSTRACT As environmental pollution is recognized today as an economic, social, and political problem worldwide, the reason that supports the need for management and responsibility of companies in the protection of the environment that leads to continuous and reasonable improvement is born. of the repercussion of the development of its activities, it is intended in this research to create the need for an approach to an environmental accounting model that includes the development of a set of concepts and recommendations that address the insertion of the environmental in the accounting, under an information and control system based on theoretical and technical instruments to solve the needs that affect the environment, achieving sustainable development that responds to the company's own needs. As specific objectives, the recognition of the factors and elements that intervene in an environmental accounting model, methods and techniques of valuation, measurement and communication were proposed, using the necessary tools that address the current environment as well as the future of the company, in addition to identifying the management of the productive activity from the cultivation stage to the dispatch of the production and finally the structure and development of the approach of an environmental accounting model that contributes to the financial reality of the organization identifying the cost-benefit that the adoption of environmental accounts to the financial ones, considering that this information can generate, in addition to a strategic value to the information system of the company, the preservation and use of natural resources
