Research question of the object of study. Is it feasible to create an artisan weaving company that helps rescue the culture and identity of the municipality of Girardot? The absence of cultural identity is a weakness recognized in the Girardot Competitiveness Plan (2007-2019), a document in which this deficiency is repeatedly mentioned, "This low social capital is also expressed as a weakness in citizen culture, in the absence of identification with the values, rites and cultural assets of Girardot. Thus, it becomes evident how this issue has a direct and negative effect on the tourist image of Girardot, since the destination does not deliver a product based on its cultural origins, since that ignores, distorts or appropriates other spaces” (Aguilar Lozano & Laguna Lozano, 2019). The homogeneity created by Girardot's lack of cultural identity is an obvious example; that is to say, a foreign tourist who visits Melgar, Nilo, Flandes, Espinal and Girardot will find little that distinguishes these areas; If Girardot had its own cultural identity, it could be able to offer differential and competitive tourism products based on that identity. Therefore, it is assumed that the absence of cultural identity in Girardot is the direct result of the double cultural incidence mentioned above in the population of Girardoteña. It must be that, in the months of December and January (end and beginning of the year festivities), April (Holy Week), June (San Pedro festivities), October with the Girardot festivities and the national reign of tourism, there are this type of products exhibited in the so-called craft fairs in the months of the year already mentioned, and on the other hand, in the main park, there is a small hint of commercialization of some type of merchandise made by hand by artisans that are still in force in the region. It is pertinent to rescue this type of ancestral culture and to help the community, especially mothers who are heads of families, women victims of violence, women with disabilities and vulnerability, to develop this art and thereby have a cultural impact on the environment, implementing products local, with local labor and the creation of a local brand, is where the object of study of this project plays an important role. | es_CO |
