Abstract The present investigation is carried out in the municipality of San Bernardo,
Cundinamarca, in the villages of La Graciela and Las Vegas, since these villages
are considered areas of the Sumapaz Moorland. In these areas, the problem of the
expansion of the agricultural frontier is being presented, since agricultural, livestock
and forestry activities are being carried out by the farmers near the Moor's
boundaries. In this way, we focused on analyzing the environment of these villages,
in order to recognize the main causes for the expansion of the agricultural frontier,
and we conducted a case study with the inhabitants of the study villages. To develop
the objectives, we used a quantitative methodology and a descriptive study.
Therefore, the environment of these areas was observed through field work in which
the main activities developed by the farmers of these villages were identified,
highlighting that the information that could be obtained through an interview with the
farmers of these two villages. In this way, it was possible to conclude that these
activities are the only source of income for the inhabitants of these villages. In
addition, these activities generate an impact on the environment, which is why the
loss of natural biodiversity, the erosion of the land and the decrease in the flow of
water sources that supply the inhabitants of these villages were identified. | es_CO |
