ABSTRACT In order to design a drinking water treatment system that meets the needs of the El Vino Village Centre, some activities were carried out prior to the fulfilment of each of the objectives set. In the first place, the available infrastructure belonging to the existing aqueduct system was identified, then it was characterized in a "socio-cultural" way to the community, applying a survey format. Subsequently, the design population was projected at 25 years using the Geometric method, the estimated population was 1855 people and applying the regulated methodology for the calculation of the design flow, a design flow of 4.5 L / s was estimated. For the characterization of the supply source in terms of Quantity, flow measurements were made in the Sabaneta River in the periods of rain and dryness, applying capacity with floats, for the terms of quality, composite and punctual samples were applied that allowed determining the water quality, as a result of these it was corroborated that the water has an IRCA, therefore the water is not suitable for human consumption. Regarding the selection of the treatment technology, sustainability criteria were analyzed through the application of a multi-criterion matrix, where the most viable alternative was to be multi-stage filtration (FiME), so we proceeded to design This type of system as a treatment technology for the community under study.es_CO
