Actualmente la misión del gobierno actual de nuestro Departamento es la de Impulsar Acciones que contribuyan a consolidar una Economía Integral, el Desarrollo Humano sostenible, la Convivencia Pacífica y la Identidad Regional, garantizando la coordinación con los Municipios, las Instituciones y la Comunidad, mejorando la Gestión y aumentando la Inversión Social, en el marco de los procesos educativos de carácter integral. Y la visión que presenta es la de tener un Departamento líder en la Región, viable, equitativo, solidario y sostenible, donde existan las condiciones necesarias que permitan a la población la satisfacción de necesidades con soluciones reales, oportunas e innovadoras. Para la gobernación del Guaviare realizar este tipo de actividades como apoyar a pasantes de diferentes universidades es algo que le sirve mucho como vitrina para darse a conocer a los diferentes departamentos de Colombia, y dejar atrás una imagen que lleva mucho años siendo la portada de presentación del departamento, buscando el beneficio de los jóvenes para que culminen sus carreras, que es uno de los pasos más importantes dentro de la vida de un joven y puedan ejercer y contribuir al cambio de cada uno de los departamentos donde residan.
