Abstract

Girardot es una ciudad turística reconocida por su clima y los planes de ocio que este puede brindar; sin embargo, es poco el valor que se le da, teniendo en cuenta que ha sido una de las ciudades pioneras al desarrollo del país, en su momento fue un destino imprescindible para los aportes en la importación y exportación de mercancía que permitieron a Colombia impulsar paulatinamente su ingreso al mundo moderno, manteniendo permanentes los vínculos con la comunicación comercial extranjera. Debido a la falta de organización en el sector turístico de la ciudad de Girardot, se presentan situaciones que ponen en riesgo el crecimiento de esta importante fuente de desarrollo, que además de promover el empleo a gran escala tiene como función presentar a los visitantes la ciudad y sus atractivos. Basándose en las circunstancias que hoy en día comprometen directamente al funcionamiento del turismo en la ciudad de Girardot, se ha podido identificar carencias en el conocimiento del patrimonio histórico de Girardot el cual le ha aportado al desarrollo turístico de esta ciudad. Es necesaria la implementación de guías dedicadas al reconocimiento del patrimonio de Girardot, así como su impacto histórico en el desarrollo de la ciudad y su aporte al crecimiento nacional, lo anterior se realiza en busca de una organización turística para la ciudad. Destacando al turismo como pilar para el desarrollo socioeconómico de Girardot, se propone este tipo de guianza cultural y comercial a través del reconocimiento de sus atractivos donde se busca poner en contexto a los nativos respecto al potencial con que cuentan para impulsar radicalmente la explotación cultural de manera estratégica inculcando la participación en la mayoría de los sectores comerciales con el fin de fomentar la creación de espacios de interés para los visitantes.
