The present work was carried out with the objective of identifying the type of fungi that affect
the cultivation of hydroponic green forage (HVF). The methodology used was based on a
literature review through websites and databases. An analysis of the genera Fusarium,
Penicillium and Aspergillus, which grow in a temperature range of 25 to 30°C, was carried
out. Aflatoxins are produced by different fungi of the genus Aspergillus, the main problem is
the reduction in weight gain, adverse effects on reproduction, damage to the immune system,
severe symptoms of intoxication and even death. It is advisable to use disinfectants on the
seed such as sodium hypochlorite, potassium sorbate and ozone, providing the hydroponic
crop with a control of pathogenic fungi. The most outstanding products were potassium
sorbate and sorbic acid for being the product that presents a safe handling for the personnel
who apply it. Potassium sorbate is the preservative and antiseptic of high efficiency and
safety recommended by WHO and FAO, 'so this experiment corroborates its effectiveness
on pathogenic fungi. | spa |
