Since 2013 quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) has been widely studied and disseminated as
a food of potential importance to face the problems of hunger and food security in the world,
its cultivation has been implemented in different countries, the increasing use of crop
residues and raw materials of unconventional production in animal feed has generated
within the production systems, alternatives of optimizing processes.
Some significant studies were selected, trying to obtain those with the longest
chronological validity on analysis of the nutritional composition of the CROP RESIDUES of
quinoa (jipi, trash, stems, perigynous, broken grains and leaves), in addition to their uses
in livestock productions, highlighting the impact of the supplementation on animal
performance.
It has been made a practical exercise in three municipalities of the department of
Cundinamarca in Colombia where plots with three varieties of quinoa were established,
which were managed with organics agriculture practices, to estimate the chemical
proprieties in the residues In this experimental exercise, no attacks by pests were reported, the protein percentage
obtained for the yellow Marangani, tunkahuan and white jasmine varieties, was 14,4%,
20,3 and 14,6% respectively in the grain. Crop residues of quinoa can be considered a potential supplement with adequate levels of
palatability and digestibility according to the different sources that show its use and its
inclusion in the diets of livestock productions. | es_CO |
