Evaluación Del Desempeño Ambiental Y Económico De Sistemas De Producción Convencional Y En Transición Agroecológica De Aguacate 'Hass' (Persea Americana) En El Municipio De Silvania Cundinamarca.

Abstract

La producción de aguacate 'Hass' (Persea americana) ha cobrado gran importancia en los últimos años, en la presente investigación se evaluó el desempeño ambiental y económico de sistemas de producción convencional y en transición agroecológica de aguacate 'Hass' (Persea americana) en el Municipio de Silvania (Cundinamarca). Fueron analizadas 8 fincas, (4 en transición agroecológica y 4 en manejo convencional) seleccionadas al azar de las bases de datos del grupo de investigación Área Verde de la Universidad de Cundinamarca. Se utilizó la metodología de análisis del ciclo de vida (ACV) considerando las categorías de impacto; cambio climático (CC), acidificación (a), eutrofización (E) y toxicidad humana (TH), utilizando una perspectiva denominada “desde la cuna hasta la puerta del campo” como límite del sistema. Se determinó como unidad funcional (UF) 1 kg de aguacate 'Hass'. Los impactos evaluados fueron mayores en las producciones en manejo convencional, el CC presento diferencias significativas (p=0,0286). En el análisis económico y productivo las producciones bajo manejo en transición agroecológica presentan mejores rendimientos y menor uso de insumos externos lo que permite reducir los costos operativos de producción alcanzando mayor utilidad 60%, con relación al manejo convencional. Con respecto a la información obtenida podemos concluir que el manejo en transición agroecológica genera menores impactos ambientales producto del restablecimiento de las funciones biológicas del agroecosistema, que con el tiempo reducen el uso de insumos externos, logrando reducir los costos de producción obteniendo mayores utilidades. Abstract The production of 'Hass' avocado (Persea americana) has gained great importance in recent years, in this research, the environmental and economic performance of conventional production systems and in agroecological transition of avocado 'Hass' (Persea americana) in the Municipality of Silvania (Cundinamarca) was evaluated. 8 farms, were analyzed, (4 in agroecological transition and 4 in conventional management) randomly selected from the databases of the Green Area Research Group from the University of Cundinamarca. The life cycle analysis methodology (LCA) was used considering the impact categories; climate change (CC), acidification (a), eutrophication (E) and human toxicity (TH), using a perspective called “from the cradle to the door of the field” as the system’s limit. 1 kg of Hass avocado was determined as functional unit (FU). The impacts evaluated were greater in the productions in conventional management, the CC presented significant differences (p = 0.0286). In the economic and productive analysis, the productions under management in agroecological transition present better yields with it And less usage of external inputs that allow reducing operating costs of production reaching a 60% higher profit, compared to conventional management. With respect to the information obtained, we can conclude that management in agroecological transition generates less environmental impacts as a result of the reestablishment of the biological functions of the agroecosystem, which over time reduces the use of external inputs, reducing production costs thus obtaining higher profits.
