| dc.description.abstract | El municipio de Melgar está ubicado en el departamento del Tolima, cerca de dos de las capitales más importantes del país, como lo es la ciudad de Ibagué también llamada la cuidad musical de Colombia, por su tradición cultural y musical, los mismo que la ciudad de Bogotá D. C. denomina el centro de negocios del país por el alto afluente de empresarios nacionales e internacionales, que llegan hasta el lugar en plan de negocios, con los cuales se moviliza la economía del país. Por otra parte, resulta de gran importancia señalar que el municipio de Melgar se ha convertido en un lugar para el comercio formal e informal debido al alto número de turistas que concurren hasta dicho municipio con el propósito de disfrutar de un tiempo de esparcimiento y descanso en compaña de amigos y familiares, en busca de planes diferentes como espacios de interacción con la naturaleza, ante lo cual el municipio de Melgar ha venido respondiendo de forma adecuada poniendo a disposición de propios y turistas un gran complejo hotelero y de piscinas que permiten el goce y el compartir de tiempo en familia razón por la cual ha recibido el nombre de la ciudad de las piscinas o el mar de piscinas, de Colombia.
