Caracterización Y Diagnóstico De La Pudrición Húmeda Del Estipite De La Palma De Aceite En Colombia.

Abstract

“APOYO AL PROTOCOLO DE INVESTIGACIÓN “CARACTERIZACÍÓN Y DIAGNÓSTICO DE LA PUDRICIÓN HÚMEDA DEL ESTIPITE DE LA PALMA DE ACEITE EN COLOMBIA” El principal flagelo de la palmicultura colombiana son los problemas sanitarios que afectan diferentes órganos de la palma de aceite (Elaeis guineensis). Este proyecto surge de la necesidad de conocer e identificar los microorganismos asociados a una de las pudriciones de estípite; denominada pudrición húmeda del estípite. Ésta es una enfermedad poco estudiada y en el sector muchos no la conocen o la asocian a otras problemáticas, por este motivo el Centro de Investigación de la Palma de aceite (Cenipalma) se vio en la necesidad de orientar investigaciones hacia la caracterización en campo de los síntomas asociados, muestreos de tejido para la obtención de los microorganismos asociados y la evaluación de la patogenicidad, para la identificación el agente causante de esta enfermedad. Este estudio servirá para ampliar el conocimiento de los palmicultores respecto a este problema sanitario, su agente causal y estrategias de manejo, los cuales se verán traducidos en una disminución de la incidencia y diseminación de la enfermedad en el campo, así como el mejoramiento de los rendimientos del cultivo. Con el desarrollo de este trabajo se logró avanzar en el aislamiento de microorganismos y la selección preliminar de cepas con posibles características patogénicas, generando nuevas oportunidades para continuar con los procesos de investigación en torno a la determinación del agente causal de la enfermedad en Colombia. SUPPORT FOR THE RESEARCH PROTOCOL “CHARACTERIZATION AND DIAGNOSIS OF PUMRITION HUMID FROM THE LA PALMA DE OIL STIPITE IN COLOMBIA” The main scourge of Colombian palmiculture is the health problems that affect different organs of the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis). This project arises from the need to know and identify the microorganisms associated with one of the streak rot; called wet rot of the stipe. This is a little studied disease and in the sector many do not know it or associate it with other problems, for this reason the Research Center of the Oil Palm (Cenipalma) was in need of orienting research towards the characterization in the field of the associated symptoms, tissue sampling to obtain the associated microorganisms and the evaluation of the pathogenicity, for the identification of the causative agent of this disease. This study will serve to broaden the knowledge of palm growers regarding this health problem, its causative agent and management strategies, which will be translated into a decrease in the incidence and spread of the disease in the field, as well as the improvement of crop yields. With the development of this work, progress was made in the isolation of microorganisms and the preliminary selection of strains with possible pathogenic characteristics, generating new opportunities to continue with the research processes around the determination of the causative agent of the disease in Colombia.
