| dc.description.abstract | RESUMEN: El sistema de producción de tomate bajo condiciones protegidas ha generado un impacto importante en los últimos años, por su incremento en área, productividad, rentabilidad y calidad del producto
(Jaramillo et. al, 2007). Este estudio se realizó para evaluar un manejo en podas en cultivo de tomate bajo
invernadero: a libre crecimiento o sin podas (tratamiento 1 – T1) y crecimiento con poda a dos tallos (tratamiento 2 – T2). Los parámetros evaluados fueron: número de racimos por planta, número de frutos por planta, peso de diez frutos, rendimiento promedio de los tratamientos, comportamiento sanitario. Los resultados indicaron que la variable número de racimos por planta, mostró diferencias estadísticas a nivel del 5% a la quinta semana después del trasplante, pero a la semana 11 la misma característica mostró un comportamiento similar para los dos tipos de poda. El número de frutos por planta y peso de 10 frutos no mostraron diferencias entre los tratamientos de podas efectuados. Los niveles de población de mosca blanca indicaron que no hubo diferencias estadísticas entre los tratamientos a la semana 4. En la semana 8 se observó que existió diferencia estadística entre tratamientos, siendo el tratamiento 1 (libre crecimiento) el de mayor población con 119 individuos y el tratamiento 2 (crecimiento a dos tallos) con una población de 83
moscas blancas. La presencia del minador de la hoja Liriomyza sp. mostró porcentajes similares para los
dos tratamientos y no hubo diferencia estadística para ninguno de los dos tratamientos. Los valores
ajustados para rendimiento del cultivo, mostraron que el tratamiento 1 (libre crecimiento) rindió 229.22 kg
parcela -1 y tratamiento 2 (crecimiento a dos tallos) 214.26 kg parcela -1 que indican que no se presentaron
diferencias estadísticas por los tratamientos evaluados. ABSTRACT: The system of production of low tomato protected conditions has generated an important impact in the last years, for his increase in area, productivity, profitability and quality of the product (Jaramillo et. al, 2007). This study was realized to evaluate a managing in pruning in culture of tomato under greenhouse: to free growth or without pruning
(treatment 1 - T1) and growth with pruning to two stems (treatment 2 - T2). The evaluated parameters
were: number of clusters for plant, number of fruits for plant, weight of ten fruits, average performance of
the treatments, sanitary behavior. The results indicated that variable number of clusters for plant,
showed statistical differences to level of 5 % to the fifth week after the transplant, but to the week 11 the
same characteristic showed a similar behavior for both types of pruning. The number of fruits for plant
and weight of 10 fruits did not show differences between the treatments of pruning affected. The
levels of population of white fly indicated that there were no statistical differences between the
treatments to the week 4. In the week 8 was observed that statistical difference between treatments existed,
being the treatment 1 (free growth) that of major population with 119 individuals and the treatment 2 (growth to two stems) with a population of 83 white flies. The presence of the miner of the leaf Liriomyza
sp. showed similar percentages for both treatments and there was no statistical difference for any of two
treatments. The values fitted for performance of the culture, showed that the treatment 1 (free growth)
exhausted 229.22 kg plot -1 and treatment 2 (growth to two stems) 214.26 kg plot -1 that they indicate that
