Evaluación de la polinización mediana por abejas en el cultivo de café (coffea arabica) en los municipios de guaduas y caparrapí (cundinamarca)

Abstract

En la producción cafetera de los municipios de Guaduas y Caparrapí (Cundinamarca) se evaluaron los sistemas de producción de café bajo sombrío y cercano al bosque, en los que realizaron tres tratamientos: polinización por viento y gravedad, autopolinización y el control (polinización entomófila). Este estudio se llevó a cabo en dos fincas por cada municipio para un total de 4. Se probó la hipótesis de que en ausencia de abejas la producción y el rendimiento del cultivo serán menores; las variables a medir fueron la calidad del café, el tamaño del fruto y el número de frutos pequeños o con bajo peso, entre otros; se identificaron las diferentes especies de abejas silvestres visitantes de las flores del café. Se buscó contribuir en el conocimiento de la polinización del café por abejas, lo que generara mayor rentabilidad en relación al costo/beneficio en las producciones y a su vez concientizar acerca del cuidado y preservación que se debe tener por los ecosistemas de la región enfatizando en la conservación de las abejas principales insectos polinizadores. The coffee production of the municipalities of Guaduas and Caparrapí (Cundinamarca) assessed the system of production of coffee under shady and close to the forest, in which there were three trtreatments: pollination by wind and gravity, self- pollinating and control (pollination studies). This study was conducted on two farms each municipality for total of 4. It was tested the hypothesis that in the absence of bees production and the crop yield was lower; the variables measured were the quality of the coffee, the size of the fruit and the number of small fruits or with low weight, among others. The different species of wild bees visiting flowers of coffee were identified. We were expected to contribute to knowledge of coffee pollination by bees, which will generate greater profitability in relation to cost/benefit productions and at the same time raise awareness about care and preservation that should be take by the ecosystems of the región emphasizing the concervation of major bees pollinating insects.
